Amarnath Yatra Content: Amarnath cave, Dedicated to Lord Shiva is a Hindu shrine located in Jammu and Kashmir, India. The cave is situated at an altitude of 3,888 m (12,756 ft). it is considered to be one of the holiest shrines in Hinduism. The cave itself is covered with snow most of the year except for a short period of time in summer when it is open for pilgrims. Within this auspicious cave there are four or five ice formations that resembles the figure of different gods and amongst that the biggest figure is regarded as Siva which is called as Amarnath.
